Cord Repair & Weight Balancing

The cords that support your double-hung window are integral to smooth function, but typically wear out over years of use. Whether they're broken, painted over, or have just slipped out of place, we'll reinstall your double-hung window with premium sash cord and restore its proper function. This can typically be done onsite (1-2 windows per day), and will require disassembly of the window, giving us the opportunity to remove paint from friction surfaces, and to ensure proper weight-balance with existing weights.

Glass Replacement

We can replace most broken glass and failed Insulated Glass Units. Glazing work will vary by the type of window, size, etc.

Glazing

The putty or wood "stops" that secure the glass in its wood frame (sash) allow moisture to run off the window, as well as sealing the gaps around the glass. Most wood sash use a putty for glazing that is worked into the sash with a knife and cures to a hard consistency that is then painted for protection from the elements. Over the years, glazing can break down and allow air and moisture to get into your window, often resulting in wood rot in your window sash. Let us evaluate the glazing on your windows, and if needed we can replace your glazing with fresh putty or wood stops to keep your windows dry, protected, and seal up those air-gaps!
